It has been a while since I wrote here on my blog, life has been busy and a lot has changed since I last wrote here. Life has its ups and downs but I can’t complain because everything has changed but for the better. My work, my love, my home. Made me draw again, by hand…which is great and I haven’t been doing that for really a long while… almost since College, so is good to feel the pencil/pen again in my hands. I used to draw everything nowadays digitally, and this is different. Who draws knows what I’m saying right?

I’ve been wanting to write this post for a long time, since my baby boy Xavier was born, in June 2015 🙂 And from that point, his room suffered some alterations in terms of decor, but here are some photos to illustrate what I think is one of my best efforts to make a baby room cozy and warm as it should be from the beginning ❤
Sometimes, decorating a baby room seems an impossible task – so many ideas, so little space. We chose different way to make it the brightest and the happiest, without overcrowding it – so we got different inspiration from different materials and the ideas just came together in a great way.
The cats aren’t included ;P
I’ve created some special art work for this room, and bought many other, which I’ll give reference if you’d like to know more about those great Etsy shops 🙂
The birds mobile is from Moloco
The magnificent wall stickers of the solar system above the crib, as well as the animals on the door and above the diaper change station are from MadeofSundays
The cute little cloud pillow on the crib and bed is from PinkNouNou
The ‘Oh boy’ yellow sign is from HopStudio
The amazing animal pillows (grey elephant, the fox, the frog, the cute polka dot red teddy and others) are from HandyHappyTeddy
The wood name ‘Xavier’ in yellow is from Svetulka
The colorful triangles pillows on the large bed are from 5CHomeDecor (this shop doesn’t exist on Etsy anymore).

The desk lamp was a revamp I did from an IKEA lamp we had, that had this really old looking lamp shade, and I glued some of this cartoon graphic style fabric on top of it, and it looked great for the baby’s room. The little side table, I found on the street in front of my house, so I just grabbed it and painted it white and it fits perfect on that little space between the crib and the Mustard Ikea’s armchair.

Another great artist died in 2016. Leonard was one of the greatest songwriters who performed until the end. This song, Hallelujah is the work of a true genius. It is so beautiful that if you let it it can touch the depths of your soul.. even with different lyrics or not, you may prefer the Jeff Buckley’s or the original Leonard’s…anyway here’s an homage to a great artist. Hope you like it ❤
Once again, I would prefer to not be writing this Post.. in memory of one of the greatest music genius of the twentieth century, Prince. He was of great value to the music industry and to several artists who benefited from his great creativity. When I heard that he composed his first music when he was 7… OMG that is something amazing and rare, I believe. So here’s to you, Prince.
To me, Space Oddity is a mesmerizing almost hypnotic song… I could listen to this song for a month (and I guess I did, for my boyfriend’s insanity…) that I just couldn’t get tired of it. I believe it’s a work of a genius, and so that genius is gone, but his Art lives forever, with us Everyday. Let’s remember him for the creative being he was and how he touched every one that enjoyed his music in a way few did.

Designing animals can be a lot of fun 🙂 Right now, I’m working on a series of animals to create a hole dedicated SERIES for Children/Baby/Nursery 🙂 I’m currently inspired because these are going primarily to my baby’s nursery next June 😉 Hope you enjoy!
Still in the process of designing the Red Riding Hood and a hole bunch of classic children book stories! I’m thinking these will fit great in my nursery room 😉
